Recently, Volvo announced global sales data for June and the first half of 2024.
Sales increased by 8% compared with the same period last year to 71514 vehicles.
In June, sales of Volvo’s pure electric and plug-in hybrid models increased by 41% year-on-year, accounting for 48% of total sales, of which pure electric vehicle sales accounted for 26%.
Volvo’s total global sales from January to June reached 388073 units, a year-on-year increase of 14%.

, in the Chinese market, sales in June were 14049 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 9%.
Among them, sales of new energy models were 1448, a year-on-year increase of 12%, and sales of pure electric models were 411, an increase of 52% year-on-year.
In the European market, Volvo’s sales in June increased by 34% year-on-year to 36474 units, of which sales of new energy models increased by 54% year-on-year to 24156 units, accounting for 66%.
In the U.S. market, sales in June were 9304 vehicles, down 28% year-on-year, but sales of plug-in and hybrid models increased by 75% year-on-year.
Part of the decline in U.S. sales was due to widespread disruption across the industry, forcing thousands of dealers to suspend operations.
It is reported that the highest-selling model in June was the Volvo XC60, with sales of 19222 units, followed by the XC40 and EX40 series, with total sales of 16195 units, and the EX30 sales of 12513 units.
