As lithium-ion batteries (LiB) become widely used, researchers have been trying to find alternative materials that can be used as LiB components to improve battery performance and efficiency without significantly increasing manufacturing costs.
Currently, the most commonly used anode material in LiB is graphite because of its relatively low cost, light weight and durability.
However, in recent years, researchers have discovered several promising alternatives to graphite-based anodes, one of which is size alloy anodes.

com), alloy anodes are based on metal alloys that can react with lithium, such as silicon (Si), tin (Sn) or aluminum (Al).
Compared with graphite anodes, these alloy-based anodes have obvious advantages, such as lower cost and the potential to increase battery capacity.
Despite this, micro size alloy anodes have proven to be less reliable than graphite anodes.
One reason for this is that they often cause rapid capacity decay and low coulombic efficiency, especially when combined with carbonate-based electrolytes.
