According to foreign media reports, Toyota Motor is facing a proposed class action lawsuit in the United States, accusing it of emission cheating in nine forklift engines it produces.
On the evening of September 22, multiple forklift buyers filed a lawsuit against Toyota and its affiliated company Toyota Industries in federal court in San Francisco.
It is reported that Toyota Industries is the world’s largest forklift manufacturer.
, In January, an internal Toyota investigation found that the company sometimes changed software or replaced different engines during emissions tests, making forklifts perform better in tests.
Due to emission problems, Toyota will suspend sales of some forklifts in Japan in March 2023.

, The plaintiffs in the case are Broadmoor Lumber & Plywood, a landscaping company in southern San Francisco, Marders and Ferraro Foods, a nursery in Bridgehampton, New York, and an Italian food distributor in Piscataway, New Jersey.
All plaintiffs said they would not have purchased the vehicles if they had known in advance that Toyota forklifts did not meet emission standards and performed worse than advertised.
