TKH Group acquires Liberty Robotics, a 3D volumetric machine vision solution provider

According to foreign media reports, TKH Group NV announced that it has acquired Liberty Robotics, a company that develops 3D volumetric machine vision solutions for robot navigation.

With the completion of the transaction, Liberty Robotics (headquartered in Dexter, Michigan) will be merged into LMI Technologies, a subsidiary of TKH Group (headquartered in Vancouver, Colombia, Canada).

, Liberty Robotics integrates with LMI Technologies solutions (Photo source: Liberty Robotics), a company founded in 2005, and its systems provide robotic end-arm guidance for use cases such as parts handling, paint and sealant applications in the automotive industry.

In the logistics/warehousing industry, the company has developed automated material handling solutions for logistics centers.

, Its products combine 3D volume sensors with proprietary algorithms to calculate the pose of objects relative to preset positions, allowing robots to make necessary adjustments to their actions when interacting with parts and objects in the real world.

, Smart 3D vision sensors, while LMI Technologies has developed smart laser, structured light and confocal sensors for generating 3D shape data in measurement and inspection applications.

The company is also promoting its sensors in robotic applications.

, Many of LMI Technologies ‘sensors are sold under the Gocator brand.

In April this year, the company released the Gocator 4000 series of intelligent 3D coaxial confocal sensors, which are specifically used to detect products such as semiconductors, consumer electronics and electric vehicle batteries.

This type of sensor can provide 1920 data points for each profile (with ultra-high precision measurement capabilities) and a field of view of up to 5 mm.

, TKH Group focuses on advanced technologies in three major areas: intelligent vision systems, intelligent manufacturing systems and intelligent connectivity systems.

The company also owns companies such as Euresys (in Serland, Belgium), SVS-Vistek (in Gilchen, Germany), Allied Vision (in Arensburg, Germany) and Chromasens (in Konstanz, Germany).
