On May 20, Textron Systems, a developer of manned and unmanned military ground vehicles, and Kodiak Robotics, a developer of autonomous driving technology, announced a partnership to develop an autonomous military ground vehicle specifically designed for unmanned operation.
Through this collaboration, Kodiak will integrate its industry-leading autonomous driving system, Kodiak Driver, into a dedicated unmanned military vehicle for the Textron Systems prototype.
The collaboration also marks the first time that Kodiak has integrated its autonomous driving technology into a vehicle without room for a human driver.
