According to foreign media reports, the environmental protection department of the German state of Brandenburg has approved Tesla’s application to expand its factory in Gruenheide, Germany, clearing the company’s development plan.
An obstacle.
Authorities said the approval initially allowed Tesla to set up an asphalt paved logistics area inside the factory, as well as a stairwell and an access control in the building of its stamping workshop.
Tesla did not immediately comment on the news.
, Tesla plans to double the plant’s production capacity to 100 GWh per year for battery production and 1 million vehicles per year for car production, striving to dominate the European electric vehicle market.

, In May, protesters opposed to the expansion clashed with local police, some of whom tried to storm the factory.
According to protest organizer Disrupt Tesla, about 800 people participated in the protest.
The organization claimed that Tesla’s expansion of the factory would cause damage to the local environment.
Earlier, members of Glenhead Council held a meeting under police protection.
In front of the conference hall, demonstrators held high posters reading “People Above Profits” and “Turn off Tesla faucets.
