According to foreign media reports, Tesla recently announced on social media platforms that the era of autonomous taxis is closer than expected.
It is reported that in addition to being negotiating with Austin, Texas to deploy Robotaxi next year, the company is also considering launching early pilot projects in multiple cities in the United States.

“, According to reports, Tesla contacted the city of Austin before the “We, Robot” event on October 10, and the Tesla employee expressed the hope that Tesla Robotaxi could meet Austin’s safety expectations and train emergency personnel how to operate a self-driving car.
Earlier this month, Tesla held an event at its superfactory in Austin to help train emergency personnel to use its self-driving car technology.
However, the Tesla employee said that Tesla’s self-driving car technology has not yet been used on public roads and will be notified as soon as possible if there are any updates.
Tesla’s original Robotaxi pilot may also be in California, and internal testing is currently underway in California.
During Tesla’s third-quarter earnings conference call in October, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said Tesla employees in the California Bay Area were already testing Robotaxi services internally.
Musk said that by using the company’s development app, Tesla employees can already call Robotaxi and ride to anywhere in the Bay Area.
Musk said Tesla’s goal is to launch commercial autonomous taxi services in Texas and California in 2025, and its unsupervised version of fully autonomous driving (FSD) can be approved by U.S. regulators.
Musk also said current Bay Area internal taxi service tests will initially be equipped with safe drivers, although this is not required.
Earlier this month, a Deutsche Bank report noted that Tesla’s head of investor relations Travis Axelrod also said Tesla plans to use remote operations in the initial stages of self-driving taxis as a safety and redundancy measure.
Earlier this year, Tesla also released an APP (mobile application) for ride-hailing services at its first-quarter shareholders meeting, which includes submitting taxi orders, estimated waiting times, climate control during the ride, navigation details, selecting music, looping music and other media options.
At the same time, in addition to Robotaxi, any Tesla owner who subscribes or purchases the “human-supervised version of the fully autonomous driving system” at a time is also eligible to operate the autonomous taxi business.
