Production fell year-on-year and month-on-month.
Delivery was better than expected, but there was still a year-on-year decline.
According to data released by Tesla on its official website, they produced 410,831 electric vehicles in the second quarter, which was less than the 433,371 vehicles in the previous quarter and less than the 479,700 vehicles in the same period last year.
In terms of delivery, their news showed that a total of 443,956 vehicles were delivered to users in the second quarter, a significant increase from 386,810 vehicles in the previous quarter, but less than the 466,140 vehicles in the same period last year, with a year-on-year decline for two consecutive quarters.
However, Tesla’s second-quarter deliveries were still better than analysts ‘expectations.
The day before Tesla announced its production and deliveries in the second quarter, foreign media reported that several analysts expected them to deliver 438,019 vehicles in the second quarter.
As before, Model 3 and Model Y were still the absolute main force in their production and delivery in the second quarter, producing 386,576 vehicles and delivering 422,405 vehicles.
Other models including Model S, Model X, electric pickup truck and electric truck Semi produced 24,255 vehicles and delivered 21,551 vehicles.
Tesla’s deliveries exceeded production in the second quarter, mainly because the previous quarter’s production was 46,561 units higher than the delivery volume.
A large number of electric vehicles were not delivered in the current quarter and were available for delivery at the beginning of the second quarter.
