Foreign companies need to cooperate with domestic companies that have obtained licenses in order to have surveying and mapping qualifications.
The cooperation means that Tesla will be allowed to run his FSD software legally on Chinese roads, and his vehicles will be able to collect surrounding data, such as road layout, traffic signs and nearby buildings.
It is reported that, as part of the agreement, Baidu will also provide navigation system to Tesla.
