Kuaidi Technology reported on June 13 that BYD Motors recently demonstrated the no-picture urban pilot intelligent driving function of its new Tengshi N7 car, successfully achieving zero-takeover driving throughout the complex urban village environment at night.
This model can handle a variety of complex scenarios, including game traffic with illegal parking and U-turn vehicles, avoiding incoming vehicles in right-turn blind areas, identifying and stopping “ghost probe” pedestrians, courtesy when meeting cars in the back light, etc.
, Zhao Changjiang, general manager of Tengshi’s sales division, said that the no-map city pilot function has received widespread attention from the market, and the engineer team is accelerating research and development and testing, and it is progressing smoothly.
He emphasized that whether it is a high-precision map or a non-map solution, the Tengshi N7 is at the first echelon level in the industry.
BYD Tengshi N7 was launched in April, with high-speed and city pilot functions as standard.
It is expected to cover the whole country by the end of the year, and both new and old car owners can upgrade through OTA.
It is reported that the vehicle is equipped with hardware that leads the same level, including high-precision dual lidar, 8 megapixel binocular camera and 33 integrated vehicle and parking sensors.
, At the end of May, the Tengshi N7 supported the city pilot function through an OTA update, which is suitable for 23 Tengshi N7 models and models with optional high-end smart driving all-inclusive package.
, Zhao Changjiang also revealed that it is expected that the light map mode, that is, the map-less mode, will be launched in the second half of the year to further enhance the intelligent driving experience.
