According to foreign media reports, plane optics company NIL Technology (NILT) announced that it has raised 29 million euros.
The investment is led by consortia of investors such as the Danish Export and Investment Fund (Export & Investment Fund of Denmark,EIFO), Jolt Capital, NGP Capital and Swisscanto Private Equity.
Founded in 2006, NILT has been at the forefront of advanced nanostructure manufacturing, and now NILT has been vertically integrated into nanostructure planar optics (meta-optics).
NIL Technology, with the increasing demand for its technology, NILT has achieved the maturity of meta-optical technology throughout the value chain from design to prototyping, and continues to expand its manufacturing organization and manufacturing capacity to meet the needs of a larger number of customers.
NILT’s nanoimprint lithography (NIL) manufacturing strategy enables more accurate and versatile nanostructures, resulting in unparalleled meta-optical properties.
A large number of high-performance meta-optical devices is the key to building successful optical solutions that can be used in consumer electronics such as smartphones and AR/VR headphones, as well as cars and robots.
These applications require ultra-compact lightweight optical solutions with the lowest power consumption and allow new features for novel sensing and imaging applications.
Jean-Christophe Eloy, founder and CEO of Yole Group, said that as the ultimate evolution of optics, the meta-optical market shows great potential for growth.
Meta-optics can take optical capabilities to a new level, from compact imaging modules in the consumer market to advanced imaging in industrial, medical and automotive applications and, of course, AR optical systems.
Theodor Nielsen, CEO and founder of NIL Technology, said: “I am pleased to see the strong support of our long-term investors as well as new investors.
We are committed to manufacturing meta-optical devices with the best performance, which is essential for optical modules, as a result of our long-term commitment to combining advanced nanostructures with proprietary technologies and functions in the field of meta-optics.
