Pierberg Automotive Parts (Kunshan) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Rheinmetall Group, has won two important orders in the field of hybrid vehicle exhaust technology, with a total value of approximately 20 million euros.
, The first order is to provide fuel tank isolation valves (FTIV) to a well-known carbon canister supplier in China, with a total order value of approximately 10 million euros for a five-year period.
Fuel tank isolation valves play a key role in plug-in hybrid vehicles.
They effectively prevent fuel vapor from escaping and adjust the pressure ratio of the fuel tank when the vehicle is operating in electric mode.
This product has the characteristics of small size, fast response speed and low power consumption.
The tank isolation valve product in this order will be installed on carbon cans to better control the escape of fuel vapors to meet strict emission regulations.
In accordance with the “local priority” principle, Rheinmetall plans to set up a new production line at the Pierberg Kunshan plant in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, and start mass production in January 2026.
, Another order was to supply low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation valves (LP EGR) to a high-end Chinese engine factory.
The order amount is also around 10 million euros, and the products will be used in the factory’s high-end cars and SUVs.
The ordered products will also be manufactured at the Pierberg Kunshan factory, and mass production is planned to begin in December 2025 for a period of six years.
Low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation valves reduce nitrogen oxide emissions and reduce fuel consumption.
Its main component is a butterfly valve with compact design and excellent durability.
It has the characteristics of long service life, strong corrosion resistance and high positioning accuracy, and has been highly recognized by customers.
, These two landmark orders not only demonstrate Rheinmetall’s outstanding strength in the field of emission control technology, but also further consolidate its leading position in the automotive market.
Although demand for clean energy vehicles continues to grow, the market demand for fuel vehicles and hybrid cars continues to rise.
As a reliable technical partner in the automotive industry, Rheinmetall provides precise exhaust gas recirculation system control solutions for vehicles with various power systems such as diesel, gasoline, and hybrid, as well as passenger cars, commercial vehicles and industrial engines.
Its product portfolio is extremely rich, covering options such as high and low voltage versions, cold or hot end designs,”smart” or “non-smart” types, and metal or plastic casings.
All products can be flexibly customized according to customer needs.
