From December 11 to 12, 2024, the ICCAD-Expo 2024 Industry Development Forum and the 30th IC Design Industry Exhibition (ICCAD-Expo 2024) was held at the Shanghai World Expo Pavilion. Dr. Chen Jiashu, founder and CEO of Gatland, was awarded the title of “2024 IC Design Entrepreneur of the year nomination” at the closing dinner, becoming one of the only three entrepreneur representatives to receive the honor.
Gartland Innovation has led the development of CMOS millimeter wave radar technology.
After years of development, ICCAD-Expo has become the top high-end event in China’s integrated circuit design industry.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of ICCAD-Expo.
With the theme of “Wisdom Shanghai, moving the World”, this conference brings together more than 300 exhibitors and nearly 10,000 industry elites covering the upstream and downstream links of the integrated circuit industry to discuss the development trend of the industry from a global perspective.
Since the founding of Gartland, the founder Dr.
Chen Jiashu has led the team to break through the core bottleneck of millimeter wave radar technology, especially in the innovation of CMOS process.
At the ICCAD-Expo 2024, Wu Xiang, Director of Ecological Development of Gartland, was invited to attend the “chain gathering Pudong, Core Future-Automotive Chip theme Forum” and shared with the guests the practical experience of Gartland CMOS technology in promoting the wide application of millimeter wave radar.
Gatland’s technological innovation has always focused on solving the design and manufacturing problems of traditional millimeter wave radar chips.
as the only company in China to mass-produce and supply automotive gauge-grade 77GHz radar chips, Gatland’s cumulative shipments of millimeter wave radar chips have exceeded 10 million so far, covering long-range, medium-range and short-range automotive radar applications, serving more than 200 models, with significant advantages in performance, power consumption, cost and so on.
In Wu Xiang’s sharing, he mentioned that Gatland’s core competitiveness lies in advanced CMOS millimeter wave radar chip technology, high integration advantages, innovative AiP design and the ability to quickly enter the market.
Through continuous innovation and breakthroughs, Gatland is bringing more cutting-edge products in line with the trend of technological evolution to the industry, providing a stronger boost to the development of high-level intelligent driving at home and abroad.
Chen Jiashu: let millimeter wave serve everyone. Dr. Chen Jiashu’s success is inseparable from Dr.
Chen Jiashu’s foresight and unremitting efforts.
As the founder and CEO of Gartland, Dr.
Chen Jiashu not only has profound attainments in the academic field, but also shows strong industry insight in the process of the establishment and development of Gartland. Dr. Chen Jiashu graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a doctorate in Electrical Engineering.
During his PhD study, he studied under Prof.
Ali M.
Niknejad, a leader in the field of millimeter wave integrated circuit design, engaged in research at the world-renowned Berkeley Wireless Research Center (BWRC), and made many contributions in many fields, such as millimeter wave circuit design theory, phased array transceiver architecture, power amplifier design, and so on.
During his PhD, he has published more than 15 papers in the field of millimeter wave CMOS design, obtained more than 1000 citations, and has a number of US and Chinese patents.
In 2014, he decided to return to China to start a business, which led to the emergence of Gartland.
Relying on its academic and industry background in the United States, Dr.
Chen Jiashu led Gartland’s team to continuously overcome technical problems and completed the R & D and mass production of the industry’s first CMOS process 77GHz millimeter wave radar RF chip, SoC and SoC AiP chip in just a few years, and quickly completed industrialization to achieve pre-assembly.
Gartland’s innovative breakthroughs have accelerated the popularity of automotive millimeter wave radar sensors and brought gratifying changes to the pattern of domestic millimeter wave radar industry.
Among the leaders of many new forces in science and technology, Dr.
Chen Jiashu’s experience is not unrepresentative, and there are signs that he has returned with a reputation on ICCAD-Expo 2024.
It is reported that the award, initiated by the Integrated Circuit Design Branch of the China Semiconductor Industry Association, aims to recognize entrepreneurs who have made outstanding contributions in promoting the development of the integrated circuit industry, give full play to the role of entrepreneurs in enhancing the competitiveness of the IC design industry, and set an example for the whole industry.
After many rounds of selection, few people have won this award, and Dr.
Chen Jiashu has been able to stand out from many candidates, reflecting the industry’s full recognition of his personal achievements and Gartland’s innovation and development achievements.
At the award ceremony, Dr.
Chen Jiashu said that “making millimeter waves serve everyone” has always been Gartland’s corporate mission.
He and his team firmly believe that technological innovation is the core driving force of enterprise growth, and Gatland will continue to build the world’s leading CMOS millimeter wave radar chip platform in the coming years, so that intelligent, safe and convenient intelligent driving services can benefit more people, and contribute to the progress of global intelligent technology and industrial upgrading.
