According to foreign media reports, combining ancient origami with modern materials science, engineers at Princeton University and North Carolina State University have developed a soft robot that can easily bend and twist in a maze.
(Source: Princeton University) Guiding soft robots is challenging because steering equipment often increases the robot’s rigidity and reduces its flexibility.
Tuo Zhao, a postdoctoral researcher at Princeton University, said the new design overcomes these problems by building the steering system directly into the robot.
