On April 9, Jingxi Group and ThyssenKrupp turned to sign a cooperation agreement to jointly develop and manufacture electro-mechanical braking (EMB) to further promote the development of L3 and above self-driving capabilities in the automotive industry.
At the same time, the two sides also expect synergy to promote the development of on-line chassis system and work hand in hand to pave the way for cooperation in the field of on-line chassis.
Source: Jingxi Group, it is reported that Jingxi Group and ThyssenKrupp will unite through this cooperation, give full play to their respective strengths and expertise in the fields of systems and software, accelerate the joint development of EMB, and at the same time make full use of relevant professional reserves to promote the development of vehicle Motion Control (VMC) technology.
Jingxi Group and ThyssenKrupp will shift from auxiliary driving to autopilot by enhancing the safety, comfort and efficiency of the on-line chassis system.
In the future, EMB will become a blockbuster product for Jingxi Group and ThyssenKrupp to turn to online control chassis.
The EMB jointly developed by the two sides is the third generation product with revolutionary technology, which not only meets the needs of simplifying vehicle assembly, but also meets the brake redundancy requirements of L3 and above self-driving technology.
Photo: Jingxi Group, the EMB is designed with dual motors and has sufficient safety redundancy to ensure the safety and reliability of the products.
Its braking response to the wheel lock speed has reached twice that of the wet braking system.
In addition, the system also supports complete braking energy recovery and meets the electrified and intelligent requirements of the intelligent vehicle braking system.
As a forward-looking intelligent vehicle braking technology, electro-mechanical braking does not need oil, while providing precise control and zero delay.
With the continuous development of the industry, EMB will replace the integrated line control hydraulic products such as 1-Box and 2-Box, and become the mainstream on-line braking system.
Prior to this, Jingxi Group and ThyssenKrupp have been engaged in research and development in the field of electro-mechanical braking for 6 years.
Both sides started the journey of R & D and verification of high quality and reliability ahead of time.
Not long ago, the EMB, which Jingxi Group and ThyssenKrupp turned to design and develop for electric vehicles, conducted a winter dynamic test in Sweden in early 2024.
In China, Jingxi Group also carried out dynamic testing of EMB prototype products in Daqing, Heilongjiang Province in the winter of 2023.
In addition, North American car companies also participated in the dynamic test conducted by Jingxi Group in the United States.
The mainstream car companies participating in the test on three continents have fully affirmed the cutting-edge technology and reliability of Jingxi-ThyssenKrupp EMB.
In order to ensure mass production and full delivery of EMB, the two sides plan to build an automated production line in 2025 and begin mass production and delivery of EMB products in 2026.
Jingxi Group’s advanced automation production base in China and overseas will promote mass production to ensure that groundbreaking EMB technology benefits vehicle customers all over the world.
Jingxi Group serves more than 50 automobile customers around the world.
In this partnership, it will integrate its accumulation in R & D and manufacturing, more than 100 years of innovative expertise in braking and suspension, and its predecessor Delphi’s R & D experience on EMB in the early 21st century, enabling the development of a new EMB.
ThyssenKrupp has been committed to the research and development of on-line steering technology for many years.
ThyssenKrupp’s shift has laid a solid foundation for the new electronic / electrical (Ehammer E) architecture, software and innovation capabilities, and will make a significant contribution to electro-mechanical braking systems.
