Porsche Taycan China recalled in large numbers! Official reminder: Don’t exceed 80% battery power

Fast Technology reported on November 15 that it learned from the State Administration for Market Regulation that recently, Porsche (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the “Regulations on the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recall” and the “Implementation Measures for the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recall.

” Starting from November 15, 2024, a total of 15906 Taycan series electric vehicles produced between January 7, 2020 and December 15, 2023 will be recalled.

, For some vehicles within the scope of this recall, a short circuit may occur inside the high-voltage power battery module.

In extreme circumstances, the battery module may be thermally out of control and pose a risk of fire.

Porsche (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. will entrust authorized dealers to implement temporary recall measures starting from November 15, 2024 to test the high-voltage power batteries of vehicles within the recalled scope.

If there is any abnormality, the battery modules will be replaced free of charge.

, Starting from the first quarter of 2025, final recall measures will be implemented to install on-board diagnostic software for vehicles within the scope of recall.

The software will detect potential problems with battery modules, warn drivers before risks occur, and replace abnormal battery modules.

Before the recall measures are implemented, users are advised to limit the charging power to 80%.

, This recall is an expanded recall of the “Porsche (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. Recalls Some Imported Taycan Series Electric Vehicles” recall activity released on May 11, 2024.

, It is reported that Porsche (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. will notify relevant car owners by registered letter and other means.

Authorized Porsche dealers will also proactively contact relevant users and arrange free recalls and repairs.
