According to foreign media reports, German luxury car manufacturer Porsche transferred Philipp von Witzendorff, head of its Japanese business, to China as vice president and chief operating officer to help the company reverse the sharp decline in sales in China.
This appointment will take effect on January 1 next year.

Prior to joining Porsche, Philipp von Witzendorff served as Vice President of Sales in Canada at Mercedes-Benz.
, After joining Porsche, Philipp von Witzendorff was responsible for Porsche sales in four German cities: Berlin, Leipzig, Stuttgart and Hamburg from 2019 to June 2022.
In July 2022, Philipp von Witzendorff became CEO of Porsche Japan, helping Porsche expand its local customer base in Japan through innovative sales and marketing measures.
, In China, Porsche sales fell in 2022 after reaching a record high of 95,671 vehicles in 2021.
In 2023, the company’s sales in China will continue to show a downward trend, down 15% year-on-year to 79,283 vehicles.
In the first nine months of this year, the company’s sales decline in China intensified, dropping 29% year-on-year to 43,280 vehicles.
, In order to revitalize sales and business in China, Porsche established a technology department in China in December this year and hired Li Nan, a former Mercedes-Benz executive, as vice president of Porsche’s technology department in China.
It is reported that Li Nan focuses on software and informatization and has long been deeply involved in the China market.
Porsche China said that Li Nan’s joining will help Porsche further adjust its products and services to meet the needs of China customers, especially in vehicle interconnection and intelligent driving.
