On October 15, NXP Semiconductors N.
V, a supplier of automotive processing and network solutions, announced the launch of the new S32J series of high-performance Ethernet switches and network controllers.
, Image source: NXP, the S32J series shares a common switch core NXP NETC with NXP’s latest S32 microcontrollers and processors, so it can run together as an extended virtual switch.
This universal network switch core simplifies integration and software reuse with other solutions in the recently released NXP CoreRide platform and provides OEMs with more efficient, reconfigurable network options.
, The S32J provides 80Gbps of bandwidth, ports ranging from 10Mb to 10Gb, and is equipped with powerful dual Arm® Cortex®-R52 cores to meet the various needs of the new automotive architecture.
The S32J device meets the Time-Sensitive Network (TSN) automotive standard and provides strong ASIL-D security, Hardware Security Engine (HSE) and MACsec ports for mixed critical data traffic.
