According to foreign media reports, Borealis has launched the glass fiber reinforced polypropylene (PP) composite Borcycle™ GD3600SY, 65% of which is post-consumer recycled (PCR) polymer.
In a landmark project, the material will first be used in car interiors.
The project was completed in partnership with Plastivaloire (a thermoplastic injection molding specialist and a first-tier supplier to the automotive industry) and Stellantis (an original equipment manufacturer with 14 automotive brands).

Containing 30% glass fiber means that the polymer component of the product is made almost entirely of post-consumer recycled PP.
Initially, this material will be used in the center console bracket of the new Peugeot 3008, marking the first time a compound containing 65% PCR PP has been used in the mass production process for large automotive interior applications.
