According to foreign media reports, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on July 9 that the regulatory agency has launched a recall investigation into the power loss of 94,275 SUVs owned by Stellantis brand Jeep.
The survey targeted the Jeep Wrangler 4xe hybrid SUV produced between 2021 and 2024.
A recall query is an investigation conducted by a safety regulator when it finds that a company has insufficient remedies to solve a problem.
, In November 2022, NHTSA announced the recall of nearly 63,000 2021 to 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe vehicles equipped with plug-in hybrid electric vehicle engines.
At the time, NHTSA documents warned that these vehicles could experience engine stall, causing the vehicle to suddenly lose power while driving.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation pointed out in a summary of the recall inquiry released this week that the agency has received 68 vehicle owners ‘reports alleging engine power losses in the 2021 to 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe vehicles.
NHTSA said the complaints mentioned in the new report include both vehicles for which recall remedies have been taken and vehicles not covered by previous recalls.
In 2023, Jeep sold just over 67,000 electric Wrangler units in the United States, accounting for 43% of the total U.S. sales of the model last year.
