According to foreign media reports, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on August 28 that it has concluded two independent investigations into door failures and reduced braking performance of the Fisker Ocean SUV, after the electric vehicle startups have issued a recall notice to address these issues.
NHTSA began conducting a preliminary evaluation of 6,781 Fisker cars produced in 2023 in April this year after complaints that passengers could not use door handles inside or outside the car to open doors.
Fisker recalled some Ocean cars in June this year to solve door problems.
, Fisker’s recall remedies include inspecting four doors and replacing the exterior door handles if a fault is found.
, NHTSA said in a notice.

, NHTSA’s Office of Defect Investigation (ODI) said that to its knowledge, the problem caused a total of six minor collisions and injured one person due to braking failure.
NHTSA said last week that Fisker would recall 7,745 vehicles due to an unexpected weakening of regenerative braking.
The regenerative braking function captures the energy lost when the car slows down and returns it back to the battery.
, Fisker is fixing the issue with an OTA software update that is expected to enhance the ability of the vehicle’s braking system to adapt to a variety of driving scenarios.
, In June, Fisker also announced that it would recall thousands of vehicles in North America and Europe due to software failures and non-compliance with safety standards.
