Ministry of Commerce: China’s electric vehicles do not rely on subsidies to gain advantage

On April 7, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao hosted a round table meeting for Chinese-funded electric vehicle enterprises in Europe in Paris, France.

The EU-China Chamber of Commerce and representatives of more than a dozen enterprises, including Geely, SAIC, BYD and Ningde Times, attended the meeting.

The participants introduced the investment and operation in Europe and the response to the EU countervailing investigation on electric vehicles.

The meeting focused on optimizing the global layout of Chinese enterprises and deepening practical cooperation in the electric vehicle industry between China and Europe.

The development of China’s electric vehicle industry has made an important contribution to the global response to gas change and green low-carbon transformation.

The Chinese government will actively support enterprises in safeguarding their legitimate rights and interests.
