Mercedes-Benz has recalled more than 500,000 vehicles on a massive scale, involving A-Class, B-Class, CLA and GLA models

Recently, Mercedes-Benz announced a large-scale recall plan involving more than 500,000 vehicles, including some imported A-Class, B-Class, CLA and GLA models and some domestic GLA models.

The production dates of the recalled vehicles are distributed between August 30, 2011 and April 3, 2019, and between March 13, 2014 and October 12, 2019.

The recall is expected to officially begin on November 27, 2024.

, The reason for the recall is that due to the insufficient moisture resistance of the wheel speed sensor housing materials of these vehicles, the wheel speed sensors may fail in long-term hot and humid environments.

Once the wheel speed sensor fails, it may cause some functions of the electronic body stability system (such as ESP, ABS, etc.

) to be disabled, thereby increasing driving risks and posing safety hazards.

Mercedes-Benz said that this is a precautionary measure taken to ensure the safety and rights of consumers.

In response to this issue, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will launch a recall operation under the supervision of the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration.

The specific measure is to conduct free inspections of wheel speed sensors on vehicles within the recalled scope through the Mercedes-Benz authorized dealer network.

Wheel speed sensors found to fall within a specific part number range during inspection will be replaced free of charge to completely eliminate potential safety hazards.

This move not only reflects Mercedes-Benz’s high concern for product quality, but also demonstrates its responsible attitude towards consumers.

In addition, Mercedes-Benz also promised to proactively inform relevant car owners of the specific details of the recall through registered letters and other forms, so that car owners can understand the situation in a timely manner and arrange vehicle inspections or repairs.

This demonstrates Mercedes-Benz’s professionalism and transparency in handling such issues and helps enhance consumers ‘trust in its brand.

At the same time, Mercedes-Benz also recommends that relevant car owners contact the dealer as soon as possible after receiving the notice to carry out inspections and necessary repairs to ensure the driving safety of themselves and others.

The recall once again reminds automotive industry manufacturers that every detail must be strictly checked during the design and manufacturing process to ensure product quality and safety.

At the same time, for potential problems in sold vehicles, companies should actively fulfill their social responsibilities and take timely and effective measures to protect consumers ‘interests from being harmed.
