Gia Automotive News On October 21, British legendary sports car manufacturer McLaren Automotive teamed up with California industrial digital manufacturing company Divergent Technologies (Divergent) to provide advanced suspension hardware for its latest supercar McLaren W1.
Launched in early October, the McLaren W1 is an advanced version of the McLaren F1 and P1™ and is built based on McLaren’s concept of first-class performance.
The front suspension of the new McLaren W1 is inspired by Formula 1 racing cars and is mounted directly on the Aerocell carbon fiber monoshell.
, Divergent’s additive manufacturing technology has helped McLaren develop efficient and complex suspension systems for optimal durability and rigidity, including the front upper yoke, aerodynamic lower yoke and front pillar of McLaren’s latest supercar.
The externally visible front fork arm is a key component of Divergent 3D printing.
