Less than a year after launch: Tesla announced a recall of tens of thousands of Cybertruck models

Fast Technology reported on June 26 that according to media reports, Tesla announced a large-scale recall of Cybertruck models, bringing the total number of vehicles to 11688.

The main reason is that the vehicle’s front windshield wiper motor controller is defective, which may cause the controller to fail due to excessive current.

Failure of the wiper will significantly reduce visibility during driving and increase driving safety risks.

Tesla plans to issue a recall notice letter to car owners on August 18, 2024, and Tesla’s after-sales service department will be responsible for replacing the defective wiper motor for free.

It is worth noting that this is not the first recall of Tesla Cybertrucks this year.

In April this year, Tesla was ordered to recall nearly 4000 Cybertrucks due to the risk of stuck accelerator pedals.

, In addition, Tesla has also discovered another potential safety hazard: some of the trunk lid sail panels of the 2024 Cybertruck may be at risk of falling off due to improper pasting, involving a total of 11383 vehicles.

In response to this problem, Tesla’s after-sales service department will take necessary measures to repair it with adhesion promoters and pressure sensitive tape, or replace the missing trim panels for free if necessary.

Tesla’s commitment to product quality and customer safety is reflected in its proactive response to and handling these issues.

The company is using these recalls to ensure that its vehicles meet the highest safety standards and protect the rights and interests of consumers.
