Launch of mass-produced revolutionary 4D imaging radar, Aotu Technology debuts at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show

The 2024 (18th) Beijing International Automobile Exhibition opened at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing on April 25.

Altos Radar, a start-up company of 4D imaging millimeter wave radar, unveiled at Beijing Auto Show with two latest products, is the world’s first four-chip cascade product based on TI (Texas Instruments) dedicated processing chip TDA4.

At the same time, Aotu Technology also publicly demonstrated the latest long-time real-time road measurement of point clouds and targets, and demonstrated the extremely close-up high-resolution imaging functions that can be used for parking, indoor and outdoor robots, engineering vehicles and so on.

Beijing auto show Aotu science and technology booth, Aotu technology real-time road testing point cloud, Aotu technology extremely close high resolution imaging function, Aotu science and technology adhere to the design concept of high performance, high reliability and low cost, from the first generation of products, chose the difficult and correct technical route of non-FPGA, is the only enterprise in the world to complete the development of four-piece cascade radar based on TI TDA2 chip.

Just after TI launched a new generation of dedicated chip TDA4, Aotu Technology also immediately launched products based on this chip, the performance has been greatly improved, and the strong engineering capability has been confirmed again.

Aotu Technology’s latest 4D imaging millimeter wave radar products can achieve high-density point cloud and target output, support pre-fusion and post-fusion sensing schemes, can greatly improve the performance and reliability of ADAS, including AEB, and effectively support the landing of L3 and above autopilot programs, with comparable performance and better performance than lidar in some scenarios, but the price is only a fraction of that of lidar.

Altos V series: excellent measured performance, stable and accurate point cloud output, Aotu Technology launched Altos V2, the latest product of Altos V series, this forward radar is the world’s first non-FPGA mass production 4D millimeter wave radar, which completes chip cascade design based on TI (Texas Instruments) TDA4.

This product greatly improves the perception effect and detection range, has excellent cost-effectiveness and reliability, and can be mass-produced.

The high-quality point cloud generated by the Altos V series will greatly enhance the perception of self-driving cars in complex environments and improve the performance of corner case at a very low cost.

The bright features of the Altos V series include (performance indicators are all measured): ● ‘s extremely long detection distance, stable identification of large cars 600m away, small cars 400m away and pedestrians 200m away.

● instantaneous speed measurement, accurate speed measurement in a single frame, no need for multi-frame accumulation or replication algorithm to solve speed ambiguity, which is very rare in mass production radar, ● has extremely high angular resolution.

In the dynamic range of 16dB angle measurement, the azimuth and pitch resolution is less than 1.5 °. ● has ultra-high point cloud density, stable point cloud output (0 lost frame), industry-leading performance and reliability, extremely low noise level of ●, and point cloud concentrated on effective targets.

Greatly improved perception, Altos V Series 4D Imaging Millimeter Wave Radar, Altos RF Series: deep Integrated Domain Controller Radar solution, the Altos RF Series is a non-computing front-end radar module that provides a cost-effective 4D imaging radar solution at about half the price of a similar model with a processor, leveraging the computing resources of intelligent domain controllers or central domain controllers to generate high-quality point clouds.

Aotu Technology will also provide complete signal processing algorithms and SERDES settings for maximum compatibility.

In the future, in addition to the Altos V series and the Altos RF series, Aotu also plans more radar products to promote autopilot acceleration, including 2-chip cascade (6T8R) solutions and 4T4R angle radar solutions.

Although the company has been founded for only one year, Aotu’s innovative technology and strong engineering capabilities have attracted wide attention in the industry and have become a leader in 4D imaging radar technology and engineering.

It is reported that the core team of Aotu Technology comes from industry leaders such as Apple, Huawei, Mozilla and Horse Zhihang, and has rich experience in the field of self-driving, with full stack self-research capabilities such as radar hardware, RF design, signal processing, computing optimization and radar sensing, and with strong engineering capabilities to launch two generations of mass-produced 4D imaging radar products in just one year, leading the industry.

4D imaging radar has become an indispensable part of self-driving solution because of its long distance, all-weather, high performance, low cost and so on.

According to Yole’s car Radar report and McKinsey’s self-driving Future report, the demand for 4D imaging radar market is growing rapidly, and the market size is expected to reach $8 billion by 2027, while the potential revenue of the self-driving market may reach $400 billion by 2035.

Previously, Aotu’s innovative technology and market prospects attracted the support of well-known industry leaders and investors, including Wesai Technology CEO Li Yifan, ZhenFund and Chuxin Fund, with an angel investment of US $3.

5 million.
