Gashi Automobile News According to foreign media reports, Hyundai Motor’s factory in Georgia, USA, has recently started producing IONIQ 5 models.
The South Korean automaker’s Georgia plant, located west of Savannah, is named Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA).
Hyundai spokeswoman Bianca Johnson said the company held an “employee-centered celebration” last week.
HMGMA’s grand opening ceremony is scheduled to be held in the first quarter of 2025.

If Tesla electric vehicles are not included, Hyundai IONIQ 5 will be the second-best-selling electric vehicle in the United States in the first half of 2024.
, Hyundai Motor has partnered with Tesla’s long-time supplier LG New Energy on its HMGMA plant.
Two South Korean companies expect to employ 8,500 people at the plant.
Hyundai Motor aims to produce 300,000 electric vehicles annually in Georgia.
The HMGMA plant will also produce batteries for these 300,000 electric vehicles.
