On July 25, Hesai Technology (NASDAQ: HSAI) announced that it has reached a fixed-point cooperation for lidar mass production with Chinese joint venture brands under three international OEMs: Audi, General Motors, and Ford.

Not long before Hesai announced the new target, Sagitar Juchuang was also revealed to have been the target of a new Lexus model.
It is reported that Toyota is seeking to wholly establish a Lexus factory in Shanghai to produce high-end electric vehicles.
Lexus ‘first model in China is a large pure electric SUV that will be equipped with Sagitar Juchuang Lidar and is expected to be put into production in Shanghai first in 2027.
Prior to this, Sagitar Juchuang Lidar has confirmed that it will be equipped on Toyota’s other two models, the bZ3C and the Platinum 3X.

According to configuration data from the Gesi Automotive Research Institute, from January to May this year, the standard number of vehicle-mounted ADAS lidar units in the domestic market totaled 445,000 units, compared with only 132,000 units in the same period last year, a year-on-year increase of 237%.
In terms of specific suppliers, Sagitar Juchuang, Huawei and Hesai Technology rank among the top three respectively, with installed capacity of 191,484 units, 101,627 units, and 83,098 units respectively.
Among them, Hesai Technology, the largest customer of the entire vehicle factory is still the ideal car.
In the first five months of this year, nearly 66,000 Hesai Lidars were equipped as standard with the five ideal L series and MEGA models alone.
In addition, in the first half of the year, Hesai also added a number of mass production models such as the zero-running C10, zero-running C11 and Xiaomi SU7.
Among them, the millet SU7 has been delivered since early April, and the cumulative delivery volume has exceeded 25,000.
According to Xiaomi Automobile’s plan, this year we strive to deliver 100,000 vehicles at a minimum and 120,000 vehicles at a sprint.
This means that a large part of Hesai’s increase will come from Xiaomi Motors.
