According to foreign media reports, the latest leaked data show that tens of thousands of Fisker customers have cancelled their bookings, the electric car manufacturer is trying to find more financing, and the potential bankruptcy filing is hanging over the company’s daily operations.
Fisker leaked internal data show that so far, more than 70, 000 customers have booked the company’s Ocean electric SUV, but more than 40, 000 of them have cancelled their bookings.
The company began accepting bookings in November 2019 and announced in February 2023 that it had received “approximately 65000 pre-orders” before the first delivery.

Withdrawing subscriptions poses a problem for the company, which is losing potential sales at a time when the company urgently needs to generate more revenue.
In addition, canceling the subscription has also dragged down the cost of the company.
Fisker’s website says that although it costs $250 to book a Fisker car, the money is refundable except for a $25 handling fee.
According to the company’s online booking terms, individuals who book more than one Fisker electric car will receive a refund of $100 if they cancel the reservation.
It is not clear how much Fisker has refunded for cancellation since it began accepting bookings in November 2019, but so far, the total cost of refunds for about 40, 000 bookings is about $9 million.
