The board of directors of smart power management company Eaton (NYSE: ETN) recently announced the appointment of Paulo Ruiz as president and chief operating officer of Eaton and as a member of the board of directors, effective September 2, 2024.
Ruiz will become CEO of Eaton from June 1, 2025.
He will succeed Craig Arnold, who will retire on May 31, 2025, when he will reach the mandatory retirement age of 65 for Eaton’s chief executive.
Locke has served as chairman and CEO of Eaton since June 2016.

” Paulo Ruiz, 49, has been president and chief operating officer of Eaton Industries since July 2022.
During his tenure, Ruiz was responsible for Eaton Aerospace, vehicle electrification, filtration and Golf Pride operations, as well as the company’s operations in Asia Pacific, Central and South America.
Previously, Paulo was responsible for Eaton’s energy solutions and services business in the Americas and served as president of Eaton hydraulic Group.
Before joining Eaton in 2019, Ruiz held a number of strategic positions at Siemens worldwide, including CEO of Siemens’ Drexelan, as well as operational, business and engineering positions at Fiat.
Ruiz holds a master’s degree in business administration from Funda ã o Dom Cabral Business School in Brazil and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from FEI in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
He also completed the MBA advanced course of the Kellogg School of Management at Funda Business School ã o Dom Cabral and the graduate development plan of Isvor Fiat in Turin, Italy.
During the transition period, Ruiz will remain in charge of Eaton Industries, while Heath Monesmith will continue to lead Eaton Electric Group.
