Duer EcoPaintJet was originally used in non-overspray spraying in the automotive industry, but now the application of this advanced technology has been extended to other industries.
PAN- DUR, a manufacturer of refrigeration equipment, uses it in the production of thermal insulation glass for commercial refrigeration equipment.
For months, the company has been spraying glass surfaces with innovative Doyle EcoPaintJet spraying applications.
This technology eliminates the need for a separate screen in the screen printing process, thus saving time and materials.
PAN- DUR’s glass components are reinforced safety glass (ESG), which are used in common large-scale refrigerated equipment in supermarkets, such as wall shelves, cabinets or counters, to protect all kinds of food stored inside.
PAN-DUR also uses opaque decorative strips to cover the unsightly bonding and sealing seams at the edges of glass and refrigeration equipment.
In the past, the screen printing process was often used to spray the decorative strip, so every time the color, size or design was changed, a new screen or template was needed, resulting in waste.
More flexible and cost-effective, the Doyle EcoPaintJet spray Appliance enables high-definition non-overspray edge spraying, which enables PAN- DUR to simplify the complex screen printing process, resulting in increased flexibility and speed of production while reducing spraying costs.
When spraying opaque decorative strips on glass elements, PAN- DUR only needs to program each profile to spray the desired color on the corresponding predefined area without pre-masking the glass surface, eliminating the complex and expensive production of individual templates and the need to take up valuable space to store templates.
With a complete set of one-stop process technology, Doyle provides not only spraying applications for PAN- DUR, but also all the technologies for extracting paint from buckets to supplying paint to sprayers.
The installed system includes a Fluid Board fluid tray, a spray appliance cleaner, and an EcoAUC control unit.
PAN- DUR has developed multi-spindle connectors for installing EcoPaintJet rotatable and highly adjustable spraying applications that integrate seamlessly with their own process technology.

The biggest challenge is to find a coating suitable for use on the surface of glass.
Professional paint company Votteler is a long-term partner of PAN- DUR and has also participated in the development work.
Uwe Schmidt, the project manager, explained: “painting the glass surface is extremely challenging, requiring not only specially developed coatings, but also rheological properties, hiding power and particle distribution that fully match the system and are compatible with other substrates.
Therefore, we conducted several rounds of experiments and finally found the right paint.
