The data of the first seven stops of the second China Intelligent driving Competition (hereinafter referred to as the Intelligent driving Competition) show that intelligent driving is approaching the inflection point.

At the beginning of the first race in September 2023, 13 brands were registered.

By the end of the fourth race in December 2023, 18 brands had the capability of high-speed NOA.

Similarly, in December 2023, there were only four brands that could support City NOA (and not all of them nationwide).

In May 2024, we found that high-speed NOA has become a standard for car companies, and the number of brands supporting urban NOA has reached 8, and today it has expanded to 12, most of which have achieved “full national capacity”, that is, it can be opened all over the country and available to all users (high-level smart driving users).

As you can guess, a larger “brand explosion” is taking place in the urban NOA, like the high-speed NOA at this time last year.

In this process, the smart driving solution provider represented by Huawei Baidu played a very important role.

Huawei, Baidu, DJI, Horizon and Momenta five solution suppliers have successively launched or are about to land a number of products, known as “Baidi Huamo”, to lay an intelligent base for the entire automotive industry.

At the same time, the new power brands, represented by Wei Xiaoli and Xiaomi, play the role of self-research in the whole stack: from the whole vehicle to the energy network, and then to the chip, operating system, supercomputing center and AI model, they all have to do it on their own.

This paper focuses on the five aspects of urban NOA “availability”, “sense of security”, “comfort”, “accuracy” and “commuting efficiency”.

The assessment scenarios are as follows: NOA pilot, traffic light start and stop, normal driving, lane change, avoid, U-turn, in / out auxiliary road / ramp, fork road selection, in / out roundabout, violation of regulations and so on.

Score according to the specific performance record of the vehicle, and add three additional items, such as commuting time, whether zero takeover, navigation route and so on.

Relying on Baidu Apollo, Jiyue is the only pure visual high-level smart driving scheme among all the participating brands so far.

At the beginning of the competition, the Jiyue brand was unknown and was not favored by people.

Under the strong pressure of Huawei and Xiaopeng, Ji Yue won the winner in three consecutive stops in Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou, which was unexpected.

On August 28th, Ji Yue PPA was upgraded to ASD, and the smart driving program began to tangential light map + end-to-end, and won the second place in Chengdu Station at the seventh stop, proving itself once again.

In seven races, Ji Yue has experienced five iterations of V1.4, V1.5, V1.6, V1.7 and V2.0. From obscurity to fame, the speed of its rise is shocking.

In the “Chinese Top four”, the performances of Jihu and Avita are more eye-catching.

The polar fox entered the top three five times and won the trumpet twice.

Avita entered the top three four times and won the trumpet once.

The polar fox won twice in the first smart driving contest high-speed NOA competition.

Lord, this competition also won the champion in Shenzhen and Wuhan, and lost to Avita by 4 points in Chongqing.

Avita beat Ji Hu and Ji Yue, the champion of the three consecutive championships in Chongqing, although he only won the champion once, but he ranked second in the overall average score, with a very balanced performance in each stop, and has always been the top three in the “class”.

Of the seven races, Xiaopeng is the most undervalued.

In the Hangzhou race, the Xiaopeng driver was far ahead, and there was a scratch on the way back from all the test points at the end of the race, resulting in NOA being unable to open and being deducted points.

It was a pity to lose the champion.

In the race in Chongqing, the Xiaopeng driver was far ahead again, but without the owner’s knowledge on the eve of the race, the machine was automatically upgraded to the non-public push version of 5.2.5, resulting in disqualification and grieving for everyone.

In spite of this, there are still four times in the top three in the seven races, and Xiaopeng Zhi-driving shows its terrible strength.

The 5.2.5 version finally proved itself in the Chengdu race, showing its calmness and success in the so-called “abnormal level” difficulty route.

Since June, the ideal wisdom driver seems to have got through the governor’s second pulse, and the iterative speed has suddenly accelerated, and it has become faster and faster.

The latest V6.2.0 end-to-end version has the measured capability to keep pace with Huawei Xiaopeng, even exceeding the game performance in some extreme scenarios, such as paths and irregular intersections.

The main scenes in the urban area include a roundabout and a U-turn.

Ideally, like Xiaopeng, there are basically no blind spots at present.

We believe that the launch of the 6.2.0 end-to-end version is the time for ideal smart cars to take off completely.

What is also worth looking forward to is that Weilai and Xiaomi Zhiji have left a deep impression on us in recent measurements.
