According to foreign media reports, researchers from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics of China and the Advanced Aero Engine Collaborative Innovation Center have collaborated to develop a micro aircraft that uses direct sunlight to fly.
The research results were published in the journal Nature.
, (Source: Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics) As drone technology becomes increasingly complete, researchers have been exploring its potential uses, such as high-altitude surveillance.
With the right technology, solar-powered drones can be launched into the air without landing, just like satellites, but at a much lower altitude.
The drones are so small that it is almost impossible to see or track them, or shoot them down in a war.
In this new study, Chinese researchers have found a way to overcome some of the obstacles in developing such drones.
