According to foreign media reports, General Motors said on May 29 that the starting price of its new entry-level electric vehicle, the 2025 Cadillac Optiq, will be US$54,000.
The pricing does not include U.S. incentives for electric vehicle purchases, such as a federal tax credit of up to $7500.

, Cadillac Vice President John Roth said at a press conference: “Cadillac has always been one of the representative brands of luxury cars in the United States.
Optiq is the latest example of technological innovation leading the company into the future of electric vehicles.
” Optiq will be sold in 10 regions including North America, China and Europe, and will debut on May 29 in the new Cadillac showroom in Paris.
, Automakers are trying to increase the appeal of electric vehicles with more affordable models after sales fell short of expectations.
, In 2017, General Motors sold German car brand Opel, British car brand Vauxhall and related assets in Europe to the former PSA Group (Peugeot Citroen, now part of Stellantis), and now Optiq provides them with the opportunity to re-enter the European market.
In addition, Optiq may also help General Motors regain its foothold in China, where sales and earnings have dropped significantly in recent years.
The Optiq’s design is similar to Cadillac’s current electric cars, with smooth vertical and horizontal light designs and a black grille.
The Cadillac electric car is equipped with a 33-inch large diagonal LED internal display screen.
The screen integrates the newly developed “Super Cruise” driver assistance system by GM Group, providing users with a smarter and more convenient driving experience.
Optiq offers two decoration options, deluxe and sports versions, to meet the needs and preferences of different consumers.
The car is equipped with an 85 kilowatt hour battery pack and uses a standard dual-motor all-wheel drive propulsion system capable of providing a maximum power of approximately 300 horsepower.
At the same time, the car also has 354 pound-feet of torque.
High torque means that the vehicle can generate strong power at low speeds, making acceleration faster and driving more flexible.
Optiq’s range on a single charge is estimated to be 300 miles (approximately 483 kilometers).
GM said Optiq uses a DC fast charger that can increase its range by approximately 79 miles (approximately 127 kilometers) in about 10 minutes.
