According to foreign media reports, Cadillac announced a partnership with biotechnology company MycoWorks to develop new bio-based materials for high-performance car interiors.
(Photo source: Cadillac), as a luxury brand of General Motors, Cadillac has begun testing new bio-based interior materials cultivated through MycoWorks ‘Fine Mycelium technology, and is eventually expected to use renewable materials to provide high-end luxury aesthetics.
This new material combines mycelium (the renewable root structure of fungi) with other biobased components and is expected to achieve the same application as leather.
