According to foreign media reports, leather manufacturer Bridge of Weir Leather introduced BioTAN and FreeTAN two technologies for the development of bio-based and biodegradable leather.

Two of Bridge of Weir’s technologies were developed over the past four years to improve the biological content of the company’s leather and the biodegradability of its products at end-of-life, as well as remove fossil fuels, petroleum-derived components and heavy metals from its processes.
