Recently, we learned from officials that BMW’s new generation of BMW smart cockpit will be unveiled at the 2025 CES show.

The new smart cockpit will be based on the design concept of “driving fun as the center” to empower intelligent and personalized future travel.

Since the launch of the “new generation” usability research in 2020, the cumulative number of user surveys has been equivalent to interviewing 3 users every day for 3 years without interruption, and the cumulative number of interview research has exceeded 2500 hours.

BMW will also strengthen cooperation with China technology companies and work together to create an intelligent digital ecosystem that conforms to the usage habits of China users.

BMW's new generation of BMW smart cockpit will be unveiled at the 2025 CES Show, focusing on driving fun, a newly upgraded BMW intelligent personal assistant of the latest generation of BMW operating system, has more natural voice interaction, faster response speed, and a user high-frequency usage rate of over 80%.

The new “visible and spoken” function can wake up multimedia entertainment, vehicle settings and application market information through voice and perform the next step.

Thanks to cooperation with local partners in China, nearly 80% of users use BMW in-vehicle online navigation at high frequencies, with new functions such as 3D view mode, indoor parking lot navigation and traffic light countdown.

Its software development department was established as early as 2002 and currently has R & D bases in the United States, Portugal, Germany, Japan, and Shanghai, Beijing and Nanjing in China.

China has become the BMW Group’s largest R & D base outside Germany.

More than 3200 BMW designers and R & D engineers work closely with China’s technology companies, start-ups, local partners and academia to jointly bring leading innovation results.

Chengmai Technology has more than 600 R & D engineers, responsible for software development of intelligent connected vehicles and realizing end-to-end functional development.
