The former reached a record high of 624000 vehicles in the same period, while the latter fell 8.

So in terms of a single brand and its models, how are they doing in the global market? BYD has announced specific model sales, but Tesla does not have detailed data, but we can see it in the global TOP20 list of best-selling new energy light vehicles (including passenger cars and pick-up trucks) counted by EV-Volumes.
As the statistical scope covers many countries around the world and takes a long time, the latest list released a few days ago only ends in February, but it finds many bright spots in BYD, Tesla and other car companies, as well as some models.
With sales in China, the largest regional market, falling sharply due to the Spring Festival holiday, global sales of new energy light vehicles returned to less than 1 million in February, with only 831000 sold in February, up 3 percent from a year earlier, according to data released by EV-Volumes a few days ago.
It should be noted that pure electricity sales fell 6% year-on-year.
In other words, the positive growth of the global new energy market in February depends on the plug-in (including the addition program, if not specified in the article).
Given that pure electricity accounts for about 60% of the global new energy market, it is estimated that the sales of pure electricity in February was about 498000, while that of plug-in was about 333000.
Referring to the data of the same period last year, it is estimated that the latter should grow by 22% compared with the same period last year.
Tesla once again dominated the top and second place.
Judging from the list of best-selling models, the sharp decline in sales in the Chinese market has led to a lot of changes in the list in February and the previous two months.
Most obviously, Tesla Model Y and Model 3 finally won the title of champion and runner-up again in February for the first time since June last year.
Unfortunately, this should be a flash in the pan, because the sales of BYD Qin Plus and BYD Song will rise so fast that Model 3 may not be able to stay in the top three in non-quarter-end months.
This can be confirmed by BYD’s announcement in March that Qin Plus and Song Plus (which would be even higher if Song Pro were added) each sold more than 40, 000 vehicles.
Sales of the two will soar, on the one hand, because they are no longer affected by the Spring Festival holiday, and on the other hand, their respective glory versions have been launched in February, and their prices have been reduced to varying degrees compared with last year’s championship version, especially the Qin PLUS DM-i glory version, whose starting price has dropped to 79800 yuan, which has caused huge market repercussions.
In February, after January, the M7 once again became a bayonet that disrupted BYD’s formation, making it into the top five with 21083 cars.
It was the only pure mixed model in the top 10.
However, with the continuous digestion of early orders and the launch and delivery of the M9, it is very likely that it will not be able to reach the top of the global new energy market, and its monthly sales will remain at about 20,000 vehicles and cannot go any further.
In addition to asking about the M7, Wuling Hongguang MINIEV also broke into BYD’s team, which is also because Seagull, Dolphin and Yuan Plus are in the transition period between the championship version and the honorable version, and once the transition is completed, Hongguang MINI will not have much chance of winning.

The biggest concern on the list of best-selling models in the previous February is that the gap between the BYD Song and the Model 3 has narrowed sharply, and sales of both will rise sharply at the end of the quarter in March, so there is a lot of uncertainty about who will be the runner-up in the global new energy market in the first quarter.
