AMD announced the launch of a new Versal AI Edge Series Gen 2 and Versal Prime Series Gen 2 adaptive SoC, expanding the AMD Versal ™adaptive system integrated chip (SoC) product portfolio, integrating preprocessing, artificial intelligence reasoning and post-processing into one device to achieve end-to-end acceleration of embedded systems driven by artificial intelligence (AI).

The demand for embedded applications that support artificial intelligence is exploding, driving the demand for single-chip solutions to achieve the most efficient end-to-end acceleration within the power and area constraints of embedded systems, “said Salil Raje, senior vice president and business manager of adaptive and embedded computing at AMD.
“based on AMD’s more than 40 years of leadership in adaptive computing, these latest generation Versal devices integrate multiple computing engines on a single architecture, providing high computing efficiency and performance, and scalability from low-end to high-end.
” Versal Series Gen 2 devices strike a balance between performance, power consumption, area, and advanced functional safety and assurance, providing new features and features to support the automotive, aerospace and defense, industrial, visual, healthcare, broadcasting and professional audiovisual markets.
